My Visit To Dubai~

Good day sunshines,
   How are you all doing? So I haven't blogged for a while now and I kind of miss it. Since I've been staying in Dubai, I've been catching up on my reading. And I have one thing to say:
I LOVE BOOKS!
I know that they're a lot of people who hate books, and if they read anything it's online, I also read a lot online because Cyprus libraries suck and everything is in greek -_-', but when reading a book, you get a different pleasure compare to reading online.
 Anyway because I'm probably going to start ranting about my love of books wtf? I'll continue with my stay in Dubai^_^
 Dubai to me isn't something new. I've been coming here ( that's what she said) for about 10 years now (WTF? O.O) and I always discover something new. This year I went to a lot of places that i haven't been to before and tried lots of new yummy food * omnomnomnom* , and I did a bit of shopping (weee~).
 I also went to Abu Dhabi one day to see the Zayeed Mousque, the Emirates Palace and a bit of ferrari world but i think I will do a separate post because I have a lot of pics. UAE architects really amaze me~

Travelling to Dubai by any chance?

Must see places in Dubai! (according to me)

1)Dubai Mall: You probably will have that on a list to see, but trust me one day is not enough, that place is HUGE!
2)Burj Kalifa : a.k.a talest building in the world. I would loove to visit but i am terrified of heights, i got scared on the 22nd floor of a building, but if you don't want to check it out you have to see the dancing fountains besides it ;)
3)Emirates Mall & Skii slope: Worlds biggest skii slope is in the Mall of emirates and you have to at least go and see it once! But if you live in a country like say Norway where you can skii whenever you want for free don't bother, but still E.M. is a must see place.
4)Wild Waddy Water Park: Best.Water.Park.Evar! I've only been 2 times and it is amazing! The slides and rides are just too much fun ;)
5)Atlantis Hotel: Not necessarily to stay, but you can go eat dinner there, and visit the water park and feed the dolphins. I personally prefer the wild waddy water park but it's still nice. The architecture of this place is breath taking!

Dubai being a hot country (somewhere between fires of hell and scorching hot) you would think to bring tanktops and shorts right? wrong!
 My "what to pack for Dubai" segment!
1)Jeans. You might be thinking "is she f***ing insane?" but this is a Muslim country. If you bring trousers they have to be min. knee length. If not security will have you're ass!
2)Tee shirts and no cleavage tops. Your shoulders have to be covered and no boobage going on. Boat-necks and off the shoulders are ok as long as it isn't ramadan or a very conservative place you are visiting.
3)Long flowee skirts. If jeans are to hot for you, try long flowee skirts ;)
4)Sunblock. Too much sun is bad! Treat your skin and keep it hydrated.
5)Pack lightly. You are obviously going to shop! So bring only what's necessary

For the rest of the blog, I will be posting pictures and putting captions because if I would write about the things I did It would take forever!

Yummy sushi from Sumo sushi bar. We had the california special, the one at the bottom was crunchy on the outside, the middle has salmon roe and the one on top has sesame seeds super yum! And the picture on the right is Unagi ( special Japanese eel i think) and it was soooo good! <3

We went and got bubble tea and other stuff after the sushi. This was my first time having bubble tea wtf? and it was soooo good! The herbal tea had the same flavor (milk tea) but with herbal jellies inside and we got a tofu yoghurt with sweet redbeans(it was also really yummy ^_^)

Yummy Krispy Kreme Doghnuts<3 Unfortunately we don't have in Cyprus -_- The original is my fav. ^_^

Yummy Fondu at a restaurant near Dragon Mart. We got the lamb broth soup and lots of things to cook. We got beef and chicken slices vegetables like lotus root, cabbage, a type of mushroom and some sort of noodle a long with other veggies ;), they also brought us tripe which I almost barfed when I saw it ;/ 

These Pictures are taken at a Hotel for a 100 day celebration of a childs birth ( a big traditional Chinese thing) the hotel had beautiful chandeliers and they were made out of crystals! The party room had a underwater theme and was soo pretty! The yellow octopus and other fish in the pics on the bottom I took home with me ^_^

We went one day to Carrefour to buy some groceries and I saw this. MOTHEROFALLTHINGSYUMMY! FIVE KILO NUTELLA JAR! *droooooool* When I saw it I immediately thought "God,must really love us nutella fanatics *tear*" this is it compared to a normal 20g nutella jar. A normal jar costs roughly 20-30dhs and the 5kg costs 181dhs.



For my pre-birthday celebration, we went to Atlantis hotel at the lacatelli restaurant. The supposedly have the best pizza, well not the best i've had, but'was ok i guess... I didn't take any pics though because , I couldn't be arsed and I've been to atlantis many times xD

What have I been doing besides sightseeing? Well I've been watching a lot of Strong Heart episodes. I only watched like 2-3 episodes before but I decided to start watching the series from the beginning, but it's really hard because I don't know a lot of celebrities and most of the time I have no idea who is who. But on the plus side, I never realized what a nice funny personality Leeteuk(SJ) has! O.O. My favorite member before whas Shindong but now it's between Shindong-Leeteuk-Eunhyuk <3 And ofc LeeSeungGee and Boom all the way!<3 
I finished off  3-4 J-drama series. Season 1&2 of Hana Yori Dango, Mei-chans Butler, Hana  kimi ( going to watch season 2 and the Korean one next) Ouran Highschool Host Club and I'm currently watching Great Teacher Onizuka. I'm probably going to do a comparison blog between Korean-Japanese dramas also ^_^
My next blog will be about my trip to Abu Dhabi ^_^

B.A.P~No Mercy. Yay! My oppas are back (again). Let me start of with saying I loooooove this song , and I loove the other songs of the album. B.A.P have such a masculine feel to their music that makes them so hot!

Nu'est ~ Action. I love nu'est and all their songs ( well the two that they have lol) and I like that they aren't making song's all about love and stuff like that. I think the member Aron is the first fluent english speaking person in k-pop ( apart from YG and JYP) that actually says stuff in rap that make sense!( ok you can't really hear it because he is talking fast but you know....). And I love this song and the marionette part! I hope one day B.A.P and nu'est collaborate! It will be , as you say daebak¬

2NE1 ~ I Love You. For you who don't know, I am a BlackJack. This song is amazing<3 I love 2ne1 and I am a huge fan. For starters I love the Music Video, it really represents the songs meaning. And i think this is the first 2ne1 song that I have noticed Cl's powerful vocals. Another Daebak song<3

 SuJu~ Sexy Free & Single. First of all, Heechul and Leeteuk shirtless-ish. Enough said. lol joke. I really like this song. From the first time I heard it, I liked the tune and it was catchy. One of the all time fav's from Super Junior.

 Teen Top ~ Be Ma Girl . I'm a TeenTop fan. I love most of their songs ( apart Perfume) and I freakin' love this one as well!Plus all of the member look so hot in this video especially Niel <3

Catch Up~

Good day sunshines!
 This is a quick update before i head to the airport.Finished packing and went through my check list everything it there and I'm ready to go.


I've been traveling since the age of 5 but last year and this year are my only times i have flown on my own and i have to say, I LOVE IT! Ok so I love my sister and my family, but being the on-time-control-freak that   I am I like being early at my gate without wasting time here and there, so travelling alone is nice, but since I'm under aged i have to travel unaccompanied minor style, which is awesome! 
 Since I leave tomorrow and will probably spend most the day getting last minute things, I've been cuddling my little Yuki like mad, she got chipped on Monday and she let out a yelp that melted my heart :( I'm going to really miss her for 4-6 weeks.

I loove ailee's voice and I'm a huge fan. This is probably my first song that I've heard of Weesung and his voice is amazing!

Comfort: 5/5, like the rest of the Bambi series they aren't uncomfortable,only sting a bit once i put them on.


Size:5/5. Perfect, they have the perfect size and enlarge the eyes really well.


Color:5/5. I love the color.It is bright and amazing. It shows up really well on my eyes,only problem is that my mum says that when I wear them i look like I'm high 


Over all 5/5, I really like them, but I don't think that they are suitable for those who want natural looking ones , since they don't look that natural ^_^

anyway moving on, so today's post is a review on the Geo Princess Mimi Bambi in apple green designed by Tsubasa Masuwaka.

I bought these from for I think 23$,they arrived in good time seeing that they were being sent to Cyprus.

JUDGING TIME!


Comfort:5/5.They are SUPER comfy,i can barely feel them,only problem is that they sometimes sting once you put them on but it's not that bad.
Size:5/5.I like their size,not too big not too small(that's what she said) and they enlarge your eyes without making them look too huge.
Color:4.5/5.I looove the color and it looks really natural and shows up well on my eyes despite the fact that i have really dark brown/black eyes.Only problem is that on the picture of Tsubasa they look really bright, but again might be my eye color.



Over all 4.83/5, I really like them and i recommend them to people who want to try them, but as usual with circle lens have eye drops with you ^_^
My next review will be on the Geo Princess Mimi Chocolate so look forward to that ^_^.

Types Of Gyaru~

How are you all feeling today? I'm fine, i'm finally able to check something off my summer list
Finish watching Season 6 &7 of how I met your mother
anyway,as i have previously mention in past posts i follow the fashion trend of Gyaru. 


 What is Gyaru you ask? It is the fashion style that Japanese girls follow, gyaru stands for "gal". The look consists of Circle lens, false lashes, good clothes, high heels ( not necessary), blinged phones or gadgets, nails and to know what style you are going to follow. Gyaru is inspired by western fashion and many girls from other countries are following the gyaru trend.


Now for the categories:
Amekaji:
It is similar to casual american style basically ^_^. Tan isn't required and you can usually find pictures in egg magazine, a popular brand is cocolulu

Amuro:
It's for girls who decide to dress like singer Nami Amuro,light brown slightly curly hair and short skirts with high boots sexy~

B-gal:
This is for girls that like to dress like hip-hop, beenies, bling on, in general dance style clothing. ;P 
FACT: In Shibuya the Hime gyaru and B-gals DON"T hang out in the same places!

Bohemian:
It is the normal bohemian looks, vests ,loose fitting clothes,perhaps fur just with lashes and lenses ^_-

Ganguro:
I already explained this fashion trend but any how~ They usually have tanned skin and bleach (or othe colored) hair, bright clothes and outstanding make-up!(link:http://straawcherry.blogspot.com/2012/05/good-day-summer-holiday-has-finally.html )

Hime Gyaru:
The most cutest thing yet!They usually have really big and pooffy curly hair,high heels,long gel/acrylic nails and in general look like little princesses
POINT: "hime" means "princess", but just because you look like one, don't mean you act like one girl~ xD

Hime kaji:
It's the more toned down version of hime gyaru, more toned down clothing,hair etc.

Kogal/kogyaru
It's for the school girls that carry off the gyaru look at school with bow ties,cute socks,accessories,hair,nails etc., but acceptable for schools. My friends call it the "hentai look" but basically it kind of is (not hating i loooove it!)

Manba:
I explained it again before.Manba and Yamanba are like ganguro basically, the are sub-groups.(http://straawcherry.blogspot.com/2012/05/good-day-summer-holiday-has-finally.html link)
POINT:Difference between yamanba and manba,manba has white eye make-up below the eye also.DO NOT CONFUSE THEM! If you do you might get beat to death with a stick O.O

Mode Gyaru:
My personal FAV! It's basically sticking to colors like black and white but you can mix in other colors.Best shop for mode gyaru is EMODA (<3) and the model below is cheesie. She is a blogger and my idol :'),i have followed her blog forever and i looove her fashion style plus she inspired me to be a blogger(http://cheeserland.com/). anyway continuing from the fan moment.

Onee-gyaru:
It's the girls who graduated from the gyaru style into a more mature version of gyaru.They dress more elegantly and softly,less dramatic (love<3)

Rokku:
For girls who want to look rockish with the gyaru zing! to it.Dark clothing,make-up and accessories. Super sexy and gothic~

Romantic:
Elegant and romantic look.Sweet subtle clothing and hair,make-up.

Yamanba:
Explained(link:http://straawcherry.blogspot.com/2012/05/good-day-summer-holiday-has-finally.html).Sub-group to Ganguro.Bleach(colorful)hair,bright clothes,outstanding make-up.
NOTE: Nowadays it's a lot easier to spot a manba instead of a yamanba.

Since I don't actually live in Japan, I don't know all the gyaru types,but here are the most popular ones that I could find.

Dariya Palty Root Bleach Touch Up Review~

Why hello there sunshines!
 I am currently sitting in front of my computer screen scoffing down on some yummy cherries.
 As I mentioned in m last post this one will be a review. But first: Summer has finally hit Cyprus and I hate it! I love the fact that i have no school but i am a person who loves the cold. I'd rather it be -20 then have it be 30C. But anyway so far it hasn't been that bad and on the 29th of June I'm off to Dubai!

I'll be going there for a month or so to visit my dad so shopping!And the best part everywhere is air-conditioned! I know to many people this isn't a big deal but in Cyprus most places don't have air con. and i end up sweating like a pig in a sauna house (wtf?) so yeah! And even the bus stops are air conditioned .wtf?

So on to the review. As you know i looove the palty natural bleach brown color but since it is bleach it does damage your hair. And since the end of your hair have already the desired color why re-bleach it? So i bought this dye to see how it works.But first i'll show how to use it ^_^.

This is the front and back of the box.If you bleached your hair really-light blond this isn't going to work for you.

Ok so in the bow there is a comb,two gels,a tray,a pair of gloves and Japanese instructions.

Now Take the 1 gel and squeeze a line of it from the beginning to the end of the tray.

Do the same with gel 2. The two stripes should be parallel one to another.

Next with the black side of the comb collect the product and apply to your hair. 

Split your hair in to 3 parts and start applying the product all over the roots.

Here are the results.

Marks:

Color: I left on the dye for about 25 min. and I think that the roots are still slightly too dark :s but over all according to the box the color came out the same next time i will leave it longer. But over all 4.5/5

Stench: It smells like bleach (duh!) but after about 2-3 min. i couldn't really smell it.4.5/5

Stinging: 5/5, it didn't hurt at all! I don't know why but this one didn't sting, or at least not so much for me to complain about.

Content: 5/5 I had long roots and i have enough for about another 2 uses( if i have short roots)

 Over all I say 4.75/5^_^

So that's all for today's blog, ohh btw i dyed the ends of my hair bright pink! But to my annoyance it doesn't really show in pictures

Ganguro FAIL!

 My summer holiday has finally started! No more exams, no more waking up at 5:30 and NO MORE SCHOOL TILL SEPTEMBER WEEE!
 Since I am on holiday i spent my first day planning out my summer holiday time which mostly consists of:
a) K-Dramas
b)Anime(i need to catch up on my bleach and one piece ep.)
c)Stalking Big Bang and B.A.P. 
d)my skin care routine
e)looking after my body more exercise
f)catch up on some reading, I miss spending 30-1:30 hours a day reading my Agatha Christi Books!
 So since i had that settled and i was bored i decided to do something that I have been wanting to do for quite some time now... I wanted to see how i look as a GANGURO/MANBA! Originally i was going to do a video and post on YouTube but since i look dreadful i decided i would just do my make-up and cam-whore. Before i post my pictures and scare the crap out of people (lol) i will explain what ganguro and manba is in a few words
 Amy's wisdom talk:
 Ganguro: It is a fashion trend followed in Japan by mostly teenage girls and was very popular during the beginning of 2000. It went extinct around 2004 but they are back more dramatically! Ganguro's are seen having very dark tanned skin and bleach blonde/orange hair but can also have other colors and heavy white make-up on and under the eyes with colorful circle lens and BIG eyelashes. Manba and Yamanba are subgroups to Ganguro the difference between them is that Yamanba only has white eye make-up above the eye and manba also has underneath. They usually have very colorful clothes and stuffed animals with them. Ganguro's are the rebels of gyaru fashion. They go against what traditionally Japanese women were meant to be. They had white skin (japanese women) they dyed it dark, they had black hair they bleached it, they had light natural make-up they made it over the top and funky.

I don't know who the girl in the stitch outfit is but i want one of those!

 Now that i showed you pictures i will give my opinion about ganguro's. I personally am more of a one gyaru style combined with casual and himekaji ( casual gyaru) but i have no problem at all with ganguro's. In fact I actually like their style kind of and i really respect the girls who have confidence to rock this! When I go to Japan I will probably run up to every ganguro trying to take a picture ( wtf is wrong with me?) so yeah. I didn't do the transformation to tease them. I know a lot of people call them " rejects" and "fake gyarus" but i really support them and what they represent.

 Now for my transformation...well it was kind of a fail. Since I'm in general new to the AMAZING WORLD OF GYARU i still have a bit of problem with the make-up (grr!). No.1 my foundation was a bit too light because it's the darkest one i had around the house, my white eye shadow is too light and has got more of a beige color because i couldn't find cream shadow ( Cyprus sucks B***s at make-up and if i found it would cost like30euros wtf?) so i used white gel/cream liner and stretched the crap out of my skin and it blended in with my foundation and blah blah... and my lip line and nose strip sucks also so it was a fail. Maybe sometime in the future i will do another BETTER ganguro look. Maybe after i visit Japan and get tips from ganguro galls ^_-
